Get ready for the world’s premier gathering of investigative and data journalists. From November 20 to 24, GIJC25 will bring together more than 1,500 journalists, editors, technologists, and storytellers for over 150 sessions, workshops, panels, and networking events at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. 

As the first GIJC held in Asia, this edition is especially significant, bridging regional voices with global practices. 

What to Expect

Pre-conference Day (Nov 20) — Workshops and special sessions (invite-only) to kick off the week. 

Main Conference (Nov 21–24) — Panels, training, innovation labs, pitching, and cross-border dialogue. 

Banquet & Awards Night (Nov 23) — Culminates in honouring the Global Shining Light Awards (GSLA25) for courageous reporting under duress. 

Special Highlights & Opportunities

Global Shining Light Awards
Recognises impactful investigative journalism from the Global South, carried out under difficult or dangerous conditions. Winners are awarded plaques, a prize of US$2,500, and an invitation to present at GIJC. 

Diverse and Expert Speakers
The speaker roster includes Pulitzer winners, data gurus, technologists, and investigative leaders tackling issues from climate to AI. 

Hands-On Training & Tools
